As the daughter of legendary jazz percussionist Pete Escovedo, Sheila E. — born Sheila Cecelia Escovedo — was born into a musical family that also included her uncle Alejandro Escovedo. World-class drummer and percussionist whose credits read like chapters in a music history book: Ringo Starr, Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, Gloria Estefan, Prince, and Beyoncé. Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter behind the seminal hits “The Glamorous Life” and “A Love Bizarre,” Sheila is a fearless multi-instrumentalist, Actress, Mentor, and Philanthropist.

Sheila co-founded The Elevate Hope Foundation, which is dedicated to providing abused and abandoned children an alternative method of therapy through music and the arts and funding special services and programs that assist the needs of these children using these fundamental methods.

One of life’s constants for Sheila comes down to a simple phrase: “Follow the beat.” Her impeccable inner rhythm is the pulse being a trailblazing career that still knows no bounds!
